This Privacy Policy explains how NEXUS (the "Extension") handles information when you use it. NEXUS is designed with a local-first approach and does not sell your personal data.

1. Information We Process

NEXUS stores task and project data you create directly in your browser's local storage/IndexedDB. This can include task titles, descriptions, tags, statuses, priorities, and metadata you choose to enter.

2. Local-First Storage

By default, your data remains on your device. We do not operate our own servers for routine data storage or processing of your extension content.

3. Optional Google Drive Backup

If you enable backup/sync, the Extension connects to Google APIs via OAuth to read and write your backup data in your Google Drive account. This connection is optional and only used when you explicitly authorize it.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent personal data. Data may be transmitted only to third-party services required for user-requested functionality, such as Google authentication and Google Drive API operations.

5. Permissions

Extension permissions are requested only to provide core features such as task management, storage, and optional cloud backup integrations.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Locally stored data remains until you delete it, clear browser storage, or uninstall the extension. Cloud backup data in Google Drive remains under your control and can be deleted from your account at any time.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to reduce risk, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your browser profile and Google account credentials.

8. Children's Privacy

NEXUS is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date.
